Living in and during a pandemic has never been on the bucket list but here we are. In this talk, We will outline the role humans play in the emergence of new pathogens and how the world is all interconnected. The concept of ONE HEALTH where human health, animal health, and environmental health is one will be introduced using the story of the emergence of SARS CoV2. Where did it originate from, what are the myths and truths? And most importantly how can we ensure or minimize the chances of a SARS CoV3 from happening again. Dr. Malda Kocache is a professor and adviser at George Mason University. Some of the courses she teaches are Introduction to Microbiology for Nursing and Health Sciences, and HIV/AIDS synthesis classes, upper level Microbiology. She is also the Coordinator for the Biology Honors Program. In addition, she is an adviser for all biology majors. She is the adviser for Lambda Sigma Honor Society at Mason.
