What do ancient Estonian folk songs, traditions, techno and visual effects have in common? OOPUS explains and performs live their single "Käi kiike korge'elle" ("Swing up high"). OOPUS is an audiovisual band combining light installations and visuals, modern electronic sounds and rhythm with traditional instruments and dance music. It is live folktronica, where psy-ambient-techno-trad genres meet. OOPUS is Mari Meentalo (Estonian bagpipes, flute, hulusi, overtone whistle, jew’s harps, vocals, effects pedals and looper), Johannes Ahun (analog synthesizers), Aleksander Sprohgis (lights and visuals) and Kerttu Kruusla (photo, video and graphic design). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
