Have you ever made a decision based on emotion that you regretted later? We all have. In fact, brain defaults to this instinctual place of emotional decision making. Even growing up, you were probably told to trust your "gut". Unfortunately, we've got it wrong. Relying on emotion does not allow to carefully consider values and overall goals. It does not allow to predict possible problems ahead, similar to the way an intelligent software does for example. If we're thoughtful, we know that evidence based decision making is optimal. The problem is that we don't have a system in place, so we default to what brains do naturally and what is supported socially. we had this realization after watching a colleague make a poor decision despite the evidence being in his hands. This is why we developed a simple go-to method for evidenced based decision making. First, we identify the emotion at play, remove ego and apply developed metric. Too often we fall prey to poor decision making and work and personal lives suffer because of it. I'm seeking to build a society that is confident in decision making - contributing in alignment with values and goals. This is the world we invite you to create with . Suneel Dhingra is a natural problem solver. He has spent his career in application performance management (APM) where he helps organizations ensure their critical software applications meet expectations for performance, availability and customer experience. He has built a deep understanding of the issues organizations face in maximising their investment in software application intelligence. But, what really intrigues Suneel in his work, is discovering how decision makers within organizations, make the big (and sometimes bad) decisions they do. Bad decision making, is a problem he wants to solve once and for all. When hea s not working, youa ll find Suneel relaxing with his family at their home in Melborne, Australia.
