Sophie Lodge is a Carnival and community artist. In this talk, Sophie takes on a journey on how she used art as a means for healing post the Grenfell tragedy in 2017. A tragedy which took 72 lives in her community of Ladbroke Grove, West London. The 24 Hearts project brought people together to connect, heal and create visual positivity to the North Kensington community and she is now working tirelessly to inspire others to do the same. With thanks to Love Language for providing BSL interpretation. Sophie Lodge is a Carnival Artist with a background in visual effects. She set up 24hearts after the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
This was to bring visual positivity to the North Kensington community through locally created art projects. Since then her work has transformed local spaces and public buildings in West London and beyond. Most recently during St Patrick’s in her new home of County Kerry.

She has a passion for working with willow and for community art projects that bring people together. Sophie always has one foot in the Grove and has continued to design and support local art projects through Covid-19. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
