Alicia Lui discusses how sports divide Hong Kong, explaining the conditions that influence women and their decision to participate in sports, as well as stressing the role of sports as an equalizer for society. Alicia Lui loved playing sports growing up. She is founder of Women In Sports Empowered Hong Kong (WISE HK), a non-profit initiative that uses sports as a tool for women's empowerment, gender equity and social justice. She spends much of her energy advocating for women and girls to participate in sports, and even wrote a children's book, Sporty Girl Journals, to channel the inner sportiness of girls. By day she works at a technology-enabled initiative that combines hiking with the conservation of Hong Kong's nature and environment.
