Έχει τιμηθεί δύο φορές με Κρατικό Βραβείο Θεατρικού Έργου καθώς και με το Κρατικό Βραβείο Εφηβικού-Νεανικού βιβλίου 2016. Η σειρά των αστυνομικών μυθιστορημάτων του με πρωταγωνιστή τον Στράτο Γαζή εκδίδεται ταυτόχρονα στην Ελλάδα, τις ΗΠΑ, την Αγγλία και την Αυστραλία. Θεατρικά έργα του έχουν παιχθεί και βραβευθεί στην Νέα Υόρκη και σε άλλες πόλεις των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, καθώς και στην Αγγλία και στην Ελλάδα. Έχει εργασθεί ως καθηγητής σε πανεπιστήμια στον Καναδά, στην Ελλάδα και στην Αυστραλία, όπου ζει από το 2016. Pol Koutsakis was born in Chania, Crete, Greece in 1974. He has won the National Award for Playwriting twice, in Greece, and the National Book Award for Young Adult Literature in 2016. His Stratos Gazis series of crime novels is published in Greece, USA, UK and Australia. His plays have been staged and won awards in New York and other cities of the USA, as well as in the UK and Greece.
