Meet the world's richest person, Bernard Arnault.In 1989, after a bitter struggle with the longtime chairman of Louis Vuitton, Arnault gained control of Paris-listed luxury leather goods and spirts firm LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, becoming chairman and CEO, positions he still maintains. He then led an aggressive expansion, turning LVMH into the world’s largest luxury goods firm, lifting revenue from $4 billion in 1989 to $86 billion (Euro 79.2 billion) in 2022. LVMH has grown, largely through acquisitions, to encompass more than 70 brands, including Fendi, Bulgari, Dom Perignon, Givenchy, Loro Piana, Fenty Beauty, Tiffany & Co. and the Sephora chain of cosmetics stores.
